New Membership Terms and conditions.
This document serves as an agreement between the Salt City Derby Girls (SCDG) and potential New Members (Fresh Meat). In order for a potential new member to tryout, she must agree to the following terms and conditions. Member must also be a natural born female, or at least meet SCDGs transgender policy* & must be 18 years or older. New Members may also transfer from another roller derby league providing that she meets the SCDGs Transfer Policy* .
Once a girl passes tryouts or transfers and qualifies to become a full fledged member for SCDG, she must agree to the new member terms during her trial period (90 days), which are:
•$25 monthly dues for your first 3 months. After the 3 month trial period your membership will be re-evaluated and your dues may increase in amount.
•Must maintain 90% attendance or higher during trial period. After trial period member must maintain 75% or higher attendance. Failure to comply will result in dismissal from SCDG. Training is held during the evenings between the hours of 7pm-10pm and do vary. Exact details will be posted on the SCDG Fresh Meat Yahoo Group.
•Must participate in all Fresh Meat practices as well as League Practices or any other training as directed by the Captain of the Fresh Meat.
•Must participate in all league activities including, but not limited to: Bouts, events, promotional media, and cross promotion.
•Must maintain active communication with Fresh Meat Captain and Co-Captain. If a member must call in sick, she must verbally do so over the phone and not via text message or any other means.
•Pay for league secondary insurance roughly a $50 yearly expense.(fresh meat is not required to have primary insurance, however SCDG highly encourages individuals to have primary insurance for this sport)
•Attain league required gear in order to participate in the sport of Roller Derby, within 30 days. Roller Skates, elbow pads, knee pads, helmet, wrist guard, mouth guard.
•Submitting this form constitutes acceptance of these terms and you agree to be bound by the conditions set forth.

Sex reassignment after puberty
The group recommends that individuals undergoing sex reassignment from male to female after puberty (and vice versa) be eligible for participation in female competitions, respectively, under the following conditions:
- Surgical anatomical changes have been completed, including external genitalia changes and gonadectomy
- Legal recognition of their assigned sex has been conferred by the appropriate official authorities
- Hormonal therapy appropriate for the assigned sex has been administered in a verifiable manner and for a sufficient length of time to minimize gender-related advantages in sport competitions.
Two years after gonadectomy.
In the opinion of the group, eligibility should begin no sooner than two years after gonadectomy.
It is understood that a confidential case-by-case evaluation will occur. In the event that the gender of a competing athlete is questioned, the medical delegate (or equivalent) of the relevant sporting body shall have the authority to take all appropriate measures for the determination of the gender of a competitor.
*Transfer Policy.
SCDG accepts league transfers during season as long as the skaters meets SCDG's tryout criteria and the following criteria:
-Is a current skating member in good standing with her current league
-Has skated for one full season or more
-Has played in at least one full standard bout
-Email from Team Captain or other verifiable league manager as to skaters skill level
-Passes SCDG's interview process
-Demonstrates minimum skill requirements at designated time"to take all appropriate measures for the determination of the gender of a competitor.

Introducing the Salt City Pledger Program!
The Salt City Derby Girls understand the need to prepare for tryouts, and because of that, were introducing a pledger program for girls who want to try out for the 2012 season. All girls have to do is pledge to a team, and they will receive one on one training with that team, you will be considered a full fledged member of that team once you pass tryouts!
Please note you do NOT have to pledge to a team in order to tryout, this is for the girls who already know what team they want to be on. We will have other opportunities for women to come skate with our league and get to know us better before tryouts.
Also note, the pledger program is for SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY please respect our time and efforts by committing to us as we commit to you. If you say you will be able to do something, we expect a follow through, we would never leave you hanging, or waste your time, please do the same for us.
How it works:
Step 1 Pick a team. Pick your favorite team from our 4 home teams.
Step 2 Email them, there is a little form you need to fill out to let that captain know you are interested. (form will be available when the main tryout form is posted)
Step 3 Start skating! Your new captain will email you dates and times for training.
